Controlled Substances Policies
Foxhole Health & Consulting takes a conservative approach to controlled substances.
ADHD Evaluations
Due to concerns regarding misdiagnosis, medication misuse, and national stimulant shortages, we do not provide evaluations for adult-onset ADHD.
Individuals with a previously established ADHD diagnosis seeking continuation of treatment must provide:
-
Documentation of the original diagnosis
-
Recent psychiatric or medical treatment records
Additional coordination with your primary care provider or specialists may be required.
Controlled Substance Agreement
Patients receiving controlled substances must sign a Controlled Substance Agreement.
Annual In-Person Requirement
Many insurance plans require at least one annual in-person visit for patients prescribed controlled medications.
Drug Screening
Random drug screening may be required for individuals prescribed controlled substances as part of safe prescribing practices.
Benzodiazepines
Benzodiazepines are generally not recommended for PTSD and certain trauma-related conditions.
Although they are not categorically prohibited, prescribing is limited and evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Opioids
We do not prescribe opioid medications, including:
-
Hydrocodone
-
Oxycodone
-
OxyContin
-
Morphine
